Hi! My name is Valerie and here’s a little about me.
When asked the question about when I started creating art, I honestly can't remember a time when I wasn't creating something. In fact, I don't think there has been a time in my life since early childhood that I haven't been working on something. There are many different kinds of creative things that I enjoy, with painting and photography at the very top of my list.
The work you see here today represents a style of painting that I absolutely love to do. It is what I say is my Dreamscape style, with whimsical and abstract qualities. I love working with color and light. As an artist and a photographer, light is always my objective as well as bright and vibrant colors. As you can see in my paintings, I use a lot of color variations.
I use the highest quality of paints and materials in my original paintings, and museum grade archival quality Giclee ink and art papers. I also print most of my own artwork myself to ensure the highest quality and saturation that I expect. Here are some details for my printed items.
Original Paintings: Professional grade acrylic paint, inks, canvas and varnishes are used on all of my original paintings.
Wood Flat Panel Enhanced Art Prints: These come in various sizes. I start with a birch wooden panel and hand-paint the background, usually in a dreamy or whimsical style. I mount an art print made from either fine velvet art paper or canvas sheets with archival quality acid free adhesive. All are sealed with varnish and ready to hang.
Wood Cradle Panel Art Prints: These prints are either printed on Velvet Fine Art Paper or genuine Canvas sheets and adhered to the wooden canvas with museum grade acid free adhesive. All are sealed/varnished. The sides of these paintings I hand-paint with color and/or other details.
Greeting Cards: All of my greeting cards are printed using museum grade quality archival Giclee inks. Most are hand printed by me, using high quality linen or canvas paper. I do have very few designs that are printed from a pro printing service.
Coasters: The tile coasters are made using a ceramic tile and art prints. Tiles are either sealed with resin or are varnished. Please note that these are surface washable and not meant for dishwashers or submersion.
Glass bulb ornaments - All of my bulb ornaments are made from glass, except a few that will be noted if they are not glass. I hand-paint and seal all of these decorations. Please use good care with these ornaments. Do not store covered in a plastic wrap touching the surface as this is not good for the varnish coating.
